Option One

Inequality of income and wealth has been on the rise. Those at the top of the distribution have seen increased income and wealth, while those at the bottom have reduced. Democracy assumes that society should have equal and free individuals. Democracy means that all people have the same standing (Greenberg & Page, 2019). Individuals thus have the same right before the law, have the same right to expression, and maybe the same influence in the government.
