Roles in Advanced Practice Nursing
Advanced Nursing role is characterized with four major roles. All the four roles are aimed at ensuring that the well-being of patients is achieved cohesively. The four roles of Advanced Practice Nursing (APN) are; Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM), Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP), the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetics (CRNA), and the Certified Nurse Specialist (CNS). The accreditation of these four roles is done when a nurse has attained his or her mastered degree or a higher level of education in the nursing field. Bearing in mind that the current era of nursing field is characterized with diversified nursing roles, especially in the professional nursing practice, this paper will undertake a critical discussion on the various roles of the four APNs.
