Then, address the following for your selections:

  • Analyze the cause and effect of two acts passed by the British Parliament on British North America. Which of your two selections do you consider the most significant and why?
  • Examine and explain the significance of the Declaration of Independence to the development of the American Revolution.

ANSWER  

For this week, I chose to analyze the Stamp Act and The Declaratory Act. In 1764, The Stamp Act was introduced. With the new act, it caused anyone that bought paper or something printed on paper to also buy a revenue stamp with it. The Stamp Act caused constitutional issues and started the fire in the first true protest against the British imperial policy. Before the Stamp Act, colonists had to pay taxes to their government or if indirect, with higher prices.
