When I think about the use of nursing informatics in my role, I mainly think of our Electronic Health Record, EPIC. We use EPIC every day, all day, to care for our patients. In each patient’s chart, we can find information such as current medications, current diagnosis, past medical and surgical history, documentation from other health care providers, insurance, and demographic information.
